A Will Away - Cold Weather (EP Review)

It's always great to look for new music and find emerging artists that are really doing good things. A Will Away is one of those types of bands. I stumbled across the band on bandcamp. From those first couple of listens to their newest EP Cold Weather it sounds to me like they have all the things that make people take notice.

A Will Away kind of reminds me of a mix between Jimmy Eat World with A Loss For Words style vocals and kind of an alternative rock pop/rock vibe musically. The EP is catchy and the lyrics are really well thought out. "Lines In The Sand" is such a catchy song and it almost has a mid-2000s alternative rock flavor to it. It's definitely a stand out song on the EP. I dare you to listen to it and not instantly be interested in hearing more from the group. The last track on the EP "The Masochist's Daughter" might be my favorite track overall. It's a super strong closer. Musically, vocally, lyrically, and emotionally it hits all the right notes. I hear it and instantly want to start the EP over.

I think the album artwork perfectly captures the mood of the album and works so well with the title. The image the band chose is really interesting and it's something that definitely adds a lot to the overall aesthetic of the EP.

A Will Away is a great up and coming band. This band should be on your radar and you should definitely check out their EP. It's a really cool release. It’s the perfect music for this type of weather.
