Meet On Sunrise Field - Sound In The Signals Interview

I recently had the opportunity to interview Meet On Sunrise Field. We discussed how they started the band, musical influences, their writing and recording process, upcoming plans, and more. Check it out below.

First, thanks for the interview.

Thank you so much for taking the time to ask us these questions.

Can you tell me how you started the band for those who may be unfamiliar with it? How did you become interested in music?

The band started because I (vocalist, Christian) was in this metalcore band with Ozzy called tartarus where he actually played drums and after we decided to put tartarus on hiatus we decided we wanted to make an all hispanic post hardcore band, and somehow ended up on the easycore lane lol. I’m not sure about the other guys but I (Christian, vox) got into music through my mother, she sings every second of the day and taught me everything I know about how to control my voice!

It seems like you draw inspiration from early work from bands like Four Year Strong, Chunk! No Captain Chunk!, Forever The Sickest Kids, etc… Is that a fair assessment? Who are your biggest influences?

My main inspiration (Ozzy, guitar) for coming up with the songs sound and direction were eatmewhileimhot!, Four Year Strong, Autumn in Disguise, and Dashboard Confessional.

You released your demo and a few singles in 2025. Can you tell me about recording the demo?

So I think I (Christian) sent Ozzy some old easycore songs I made and recorded myself in 2024. They weren’t crazy good, but they served as an inspiration haha. Ozzy recorded and produced all instrumentals in his bedroom and vocals are recorded in my bedroom as well as synth sometimes!

I really like “Tasteless!”. Can you tell me more about that song specifically?

So that song is actually a cover of a song by this dude called Ken Ashcorp who is a furry and sings about video game nonsense!

You worked with Eudora Records to release CDs for your demo. Do you have plans to release cassettes or vinyl for the demo or for any other upcoming music releases?

I don’t think we’re gonna release the demo on any more physical styles (maybe CDs cause people have been asking!) but we’re working on an official debut release!

What do you have lined up for 2026?

We’re planning on playing lots of local shows and looking forward to opening for Norma Jean in February! Possibly gonna be traveling too.. maybe..definitely gonna be writing a lot tho that’s for sure!

Thanks for taking the time to answer the questions. Do you have anything else that you want like to add?

Thank you for the questions!
