Belclaire - Sound In The Signals Interview

I recently had the opportunity to interview Belclaire. We discussed how they formed the band, recording their upcoming EP, a favorite moment from the studio, when listeners can expect to hear new music, and more. Check it out below.

First, thanks for the interview.

Thank you so much for having us, this is awesome!

Can you tell me how you got together and formed the band for those who may be unfamiliar?

It all started with just vocalist (Tommy) and his acoustic guitar. Tommy had 5 songs and got them recorded and showed lead guitarist, Grayson, the songs. Tommy and Grayson played and wrote together for several months until we found Jayden (guitarist). Our sound really started coming together and it was solidified once Ryan (Drummer) entered the band. The last and missing piece was Jordan, who rocks on the bass!

You recently finished recording your EP. You’ve talked about this being a re-recording of your ‘Eventually’ EP. What was the process like and did you add any new songs?

Well, what a lot of people don’t know is that the first versions of these songs were done back in late 2019/early 2020 and it was before the band was even formed. Tommy (vocalist) worked with an amazing producer (Scott Buchanan) and were the only 2 minds that worked on the songs. Once the band was formed, we decided that we owed these songs a “revamp” because of how different they are now! So, to anyone who has actually heard the old versions, you’ll absolutely LOVE the new versions! We actually consider these new songs so we decided to just keep it to those 5 songs for the EP! However, we did record a brand new song that won’t be a part of the EP so be on the look out for that!

Who did you work with and where did you record at?

We recently finished up recording the songs at ‘Fifty50 Studios’ in Dallas, TX ! Our sound Engineer, David, did an AMAZING job when working with us and we definitely recommend this studio to any artist looking for professional recordings. Now that the songs are officially done in the studio, we have sent them to Scott (the same producer who was a part of the first version of the EP) to mix and master the EP!

What was your favorite moment in the studio?

Our favorite moment was definitely recording the song “Eventually”! We are so excited for that song!

When do you think fans can expect to hear something from the EP? Do you have a planned release timeline yet?

We are looking to release it towards the end of February or early March!

Thanks for taking the time to answer the questions. Do you have anything else that you would like to add?

We just want to thank you for reaching out to us to do this interview. We also want to think anyone that has supported us thus far and we are so excited for the plans we have for 2022!
