Sound In The Signals - Issue Of The Month (January 2014)

Today is the last day of the month and I've been waiting to launch this new feature until today. Every month at the end of the month I'm going to be picking one comic book from any current running comic series as Sound In The Signals issue of the month. That means the issue may come from Marvel, DC, Image, IDW, Vertigo, etc... My goal is that at the end of 2014 I will have selected 12 issues one for each month of the year.

My January issue of the month pick is IDW's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles issue 30 (Cover A). This TMNT series is no joke. It's by far some of the best Ninja Turtles stuff I've ever seen or read. This issue continues the Northampton story arc which occures right after the massive City Fall storyline that finished up a couple months ago.

The artwork for this series along with the very awesome storytelling makes this a must read for fans of TMNT. The cover of this issue looks fantastic. Also it should be noted that this issue along with most of the issues in this series have really strong writing with somewhat complex storylines. With that in mind I would say these stories are for a little bit older of an audience. Meaning it may not be the most suitable TMNT comic for young readers. However, if you are 13-14 years of age or older this book should be right up your alley.
