The Rival - New EP, "Waves" Out

Nashville indie-pop duo The Rival released a new EP called Waves. The EP is the first in a trio of upcoming releases. The EPs are inspired by different geographic landscapes, Waves, Sands, and Peaks.

Allen Salmon says, "The goal was to help the listener experience the emotions brought on by each type of landscape, and be able to visualize each setting." Phillip Larue adds, "Waves is filled with joy. Life is hard, and kind of sucks at times. We wanted to make an EP that made you feel alive and hopefully makes you smile and head to the beach with your mates to drink a cold one."

They've kept quite busy as The Rival with past EPs and TV/Film spots featuring their songs including Apple, Target, Sony, Nike, Microsoft, and ESPN. They also have songwriting credits including Phillip's #1 country hit "Whiskey In My Water" performed by Tyler Farr. Salmon has produced, mixed, and wrote for MuteMath, Fleurie, Katie Herzig, and Neulore.
